Pont Rean to Saintes

We left Jersey yesterday late afternoon and overnighted a bit over an hour south away from St Malo at Pont Rean, a free stop when out of season (as currently!) and 5.40 Euros when not (so still can’t complain!).

It’s a very pleasant and peaceful canal side Aire with a boulangerie a stone’s throw away so very handy!  We took a half hour stroll along the canal before we set off on our drive further south.

That’s us parked up – the nearest one

We stopped part way along the Peage for a bread, cheese and salad lunch on board, which I rustle up while my driver puts his feet up! – it’s an arrangement that suits us both happily.

The day has become sunny and we’ve stopped at a free Aire next to the Municipal campsite at Saintes (half way down France).

This is our stop for the night.  Perfectly decent, free and currently just one Irish motorhome for a neighbour.

 Lunch!

and shortly I shall be trying out a supper recipe from my Waitrose magazines’
