Saint Jouan des Guérets (10 minutes from Saint Malo)

We stayed our last night this trip at this super location very close to
St Malo ferry port and right on the river Rance.

It’s allowed for motorhomes to overnight only park here from 7pm until 10am, which is fine.

We arrived around 7pm, cooked supper on board, and at that time, there were a handful of people left on the beach picnicking and swimming and so forth. There was a young father with 3 obnoxiously noisy kids that got on my goat, but it seems this is one hazard of life, hard to escape from for long! Thankfully when they finally left, the beautiful setting was at last able to be fully enjoyed in all its tranquility.

After supper we took a walk along the riverbank which was so picturesque with the water and boats one side of our path and wheat fields to our other side.

Just one other motorhome parked up overnight, and not close to us which was considerate.

The only other brief intrusion on our idyllic overnight stop was a bunch of well oiled youths passing by after we’d gone to bed.

The last audible interruption to our peace, but not offensive, was a welcome thunderstorm, with cooling rain.

Room with a view!

After the cooling rain

A visually stunning, free, night stop, and undoubtedly another time, every chance of it being even more peaceful! We were there in July, and at the weekend!

We shall return!

This is the last post for our “2015 06 – Normandy” trip blog.

Next up will be our German blog (August 2015), so please “Follow” to be kept in touch!
