Coming away from Coutances we followed the signs for Chateau de Gratot.

Chateaux are so diverse in appearance from manor style grand houses to vast medieval castles, it’s always anyone’s guess what you will be presented with.

Chateau de Gratot was a lovely surprise and not the least bit disappointing and great value too.

It has been lovingly restored to its former glory by volunteers.

We had the added bonus of visiting on a sunny afternoon, so it really ‘came alive’.
