We had visited Saint Mère Eglise those years ago with Daisy, but my memory of the place was very sketchy (nothing new there!), and with it being convenient to re-visit, we did a drive through.

It is famous for the mannequin of the American parachutist left hanging from the church steeple having been unfortunately dropped in the wrong location! Although captured, he survived the war and returned to Saint Mère Eglise many times through his life.
