That beachside stop at Yves was a great find, thanks to Park4night. We enjoyed the sunset over the fishing cabins, and had a very peaceful night. This morning saw some serious blogging going on, with Sophie sorting her photos and me scheduling the coming week’s posts on Facebook and WordPress (mlarb.com).
After lunch we aimed for La Rochelle, an age-old favourite of ours, but hugged this part of the coast as we’ve never done this previously. That was a pleasant drive and we took in a walk with Sophie getting carried away with photographing the oyster farmers’ paraphernalia.
After getting some free water from Angoulins’ services-only aire, we called in at a couple of potential, but, as it turned out, non-viable overnighting options.
We are now at a great spot at “Avenue de la Capitainerie”, or Quai du Lazeret, overlooking the big marina at La Rochelle. It’s a free popular motorhoming haunt, where we’ve stayed before, and has great capacity for vehicles, but enough space to “breathe”. So we’re looking forward to another quiet night, and plan to visit La Rochelle proper tomorrow.
