For those of you who might be interested, we logged all our expenses using an app called “Travel Wallet”, which we’d strongly recommend if you like to keep a close eye on what you spend on what whilst you’re touring. Importantly (for me anyway!), is the ability to export all the info into Excel, and this has enabled me to create a really helpful summary.

As we plan to travel for longer periods more often, it’s important to understand many of these different aspects to enable us to plan:

On balance, and talking in very approximate figures, we reckon we could save about £1,000 per month if we lived like this!
