Our final stop before St Malo ferry terminal. Just time for a spot of lunch!
Dinan is an amazing place. We would be in danger of taking it for granted as it’s on our doorstep basically, and somewhere we have visited so very often over so many years (it’s only half an hour from St Malo). I think however, the more we travel about, the more we see how very much a jewel it is.
To overnight at the aire would cost just a few euros maximum, though no water etc facilities there. It is however ideally located for Le Port de Dinan (just a 5 minute leisurely stroll). The town centre is not far either, though more of a hike up (though a good workout!).
We ordinarily park up in the town car park (in the main square) for a few centimes/couple of euros maximum, while we lunch or mooch about the town, but you can’t overnight there.
The reason we parked in the aire this time is that Thursday is market day, and no scope for parking in the square as that’s the venue for it – at least all morning, and into lunchtime!
So yes, being a Thursday we stuck to being down at the Port, but still had plenty of eateries to choose from, and headed to ‘Les Voyageurs’ on the front which do a good ‘Formule’ 3 course meal at a great price (as these formule menus tend to be).
It’s always great to chat and people watch over a casual meal together. An all time favourite of ours!
Until our next trip, bfn!
